Hi, my name is Rick Porier, I am a professional photographer and I am the owner of Rick Porier Photography here in San Antonio and DFW Pro Photo in Dallas.
So here is the short story. While attending St. Mary’s Law School our beautiful daughter, Jade met a wonderful guy named Mark. They got married. And now we have a beautiful granddaughter.
For us, family is everything. We didn’t want to see our little one growing up via Facebook so, in June of 2024, we relocated from Dallas to San Antonio to be closer to our kids and new grand baby. Hopefully with more to come soon.
The people in San Antonio are so nice. We love living here in this beautiful and historic place. This a great place for photography with so many great locations to shoot.
My introduction to photography came at a very early age from my dad who was a professional photographer.
I used to drive my dad crazy as a little kid wasting film shooting pictures of my little green army men with my old Canon AE-1, 35mm film camera (one of my Dad’s hand-me-downs).
I didn’t fall in love with photography though until I enrolled at the Art Institute of Dallas many years later.
I was actually a Computer Animation Major but of course being an art school our curriculum included all kinds of artistic media including lots of photography and videography.
The digital revolution in cameras had just begun and opened the doors to endless possibilities within the computer environment for creativity and I loved it. I was hooked!
